The Bearing Specialists - King Engine Bearings was founded in 1960 with one simple objective: to supply the highest quality bearings available in the marketplace. By specializing in engine bearings, King has built an extensive product offering that includes a wide range of engine bearings for automobiles, light duty and heavy duty trucks, marine, aviation, standby power and many other types of internal combustion engines. Every King bearing utilizes the highest quality materials and the most advanced designs to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Main Bearings
King Main Bearings are developed for all high performance applications as well as stock replacement. Most come chamfered for large radius crankshafts fillets. Extreme Duty applications can take advantage of King’s pMaxKote™ is a new approach to coated bearings. It has proven to protect bearings during metal-to-metal contact, as well as from the erosive effects of cavitation. It contains ceramic nano-composite particles that function as a fourth layer which provides superior build protection. more info
Rod Bearings
King Rod Bearings are developed for all high performance applications as well as stock replacement. Most come chamfered for large radius crankshafts fillets and some are drilled for locator dowels on aluminum rods. Cam Bearings
King HP-Series Cam Bearings have the toughness needed for your brutal racing applications. These bearings are constructed from seamless steel tubing with a thin layer of lead based babbit material to reduce microscopic deflections. The babbit is quickly cooled in the casting process to achieve a very fine grain structure, doubling tensile strength. HP-Series bearings are precision-machined to tight tolerances to control installed oil clearances, reducing operating bearing pressure. King HP-Series cam bearings offer much more fatigue strength than conventional bearings and can withstand racing spring loads, while maintaining the excellent surface characteristics of babbit. King also offers HP-Series bearings with a fluoropolymer coating. Bearings with this coating retain engine oil on the surface, even under extreme heat and pressure--a great advantage! Plus, being a lubricant, it provides backup during start-up and in the event of momentary oil starvation. Use track-tough King HP-Series cam bearings in your engine and feel the difference. more info

The AM Series

King AM-Series main bearings are recommended for street or marine applications. These crankshaft bearings have superior embedability, which provides greater macro-particle to reduce scratching of the crank journals and tearing or weakening of the Babbitt overlays. King AM-Series main bearings feature tolerance control up to plus or minus .0001—and they're lead-free, making them environmentally-friendly and user-safe. Order the direct replacements designed for fitment on your make and model.
AM is the softest bi-metal material. It contains 20% of tin, 1% of copper and no silicon. AM bearings are used in the passenger cars with low and medium load gasoline engines.

The SI Series

KING "SI" Bearings are made of an innovative bi-metal silicon/aluminum alloy, the newest generation of KING Alecular bearing technology. The silicon particles in the bearings help round off high spots on the crank surface during engine operation, which reduces friction and related wear. The SI bearings also help minimize debris embedment, since hard particle debris is instantly flushed through the bearing and filtered out of the engine rather than scoring the crankshaft and causing long term damage.

The HP Racing Series (Bi-Metal)

The HP Series was developed mainly for drag race applications needing a material that is harder than the Babbitt top layer. These applications demanded a structure that could withstand high loads for short duration and still offer higher embedabilty and compatibility. In response, KING developed the HP Series featuring the Alecular™ metal structure.

The HP series is also suited for many performance applications with nodular cast iron crankshafts, such as street, strip and some levels of circle track racing.

HP Series is particularly suitable for the following cases:

When a tri-metal bearing’s Babbitt overlay extrudes over the sides, migrates to one end, or is physically removed by the crankshaft.
When the intermediate layer of a tri-metal bearing is exposed, damaging the crank journal and requiring expensive grinding or replacement.
When contaminants enter the oil stream, scratching and damaging the crankshaft journals.

The XP Racing Series

Successful race engine builders are constantly pushing the limits of load capacity to new levels. Race bearings today inevitably need to match these demands with more competitive bearings. At King Racing we met the challenge with the XP high performance bearings series.

The XP series is a line of bearings with advanced metallurgical and geometric technologies that meet extreme performance loads. It was developed for all performance applications that use forged steel aftermarket crankshafts and produce high loads for extended periods.

King Racing’s XP series features pMax Black™, a unique tri-metal structure that is 24% harder than any other conventional tri-metal race bearing. pMax Black™ together with the XP geometric features are the ideal combination for performance racing.
