401 cubic inch Cleveland engine kits are based on 4.125 bore engine block and a 3.750 stroker crankshaft. Larger camshafts and enhanced fuel systems are a good addition to complement the increased capability. Use of 4.125 (minimum) bore aftermarket block is required. Custom combinations are also available for specialized applications.
Flat Top
Flat top pistons in a 401 Cleveland Ford engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 11.4:1 (64cc head) range which makes them a good option for engines with aluminum heads and larger than stock camshafts. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to slightly over .700 valve lift.

Villain - Cast Crank, through-bolt rods, forged pistons, designed for stock replacement and mild performance applications.

Vigilante - 4340 Forged Crank, I-Beam rods, forged pistons, designed for Street or Street and Strip performance applications.
