Dome top pistons in a 454 Chevrolet engine generally provide compression ratios in the 10 to 13.0:1 or higher range which makes them a good option for very high performance or racing applications. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to well over .750 valve lift. 18 degree pistons are also available.
