Dish top pistons in a 418 Ford engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 9.5 to 10.5:1 (61cc head) range which makes them a good option for engines with iron and larger than stock camshafts. They also work well in heads with larger combustion chambers and boosted applications. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to slightly over .600 valve lift.
