KING "SI" bearings are made of an innovative bi-metal silicon/aluminum alloy, the newest generation of KING's Alecular bearing technology. The silicon particles in the bearings help round off high spots on the crank surface during engine operation, which reduces friction and related wear. The SI bearings also help minimize debris embedment, since hard particle debris is instantly flushed through the bearing and filtered out of the engine rather than scoring the crankshaft and causing long term damage.

King SI Series main bearings are recommended for OE applications. These replacement bearings are designed for aftermarket gasoline or diesel engine rebuilding—and performance engines with factory crankshafts. The bearings have an improved crankshaft finish for reducing microscopic ferrite peaks on improperly ground or polished nodular cast iron crankshafts. King SI Series main bearings feature improved oil clearance to reduce wear and increase engine life, which in turn reduces operating noise, vibration, and excess oil flow.
