CP Bullet Pistons for the 385 Series Ford are made on premium 2618-t6 forgings and are balanced to a tolerance of +/- 1 gram. They feature forced pin oilers, contact reduction grooves, accumulator grooves, align with forged side reliefs, chromoly wrist pins with wire locks. Flat Top
Flat top pistons in a Ford 501 to 533 engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 10.5:1 to 14.0:1 range, depending on engine size and cylinder head range which makes them a good option for engines with competition applications. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to well over .700 valve lift.
Dish Top
Dish top pistons in a Ford 521 to 533 engine will generally provide compression ratios in the 9.0 1 range which makes them a good option for engines with aluminum heads and boosted applications. Valve reliefs are configured to work with most types of standard and aluminum cylinder heads and will normally fit camshafts to well over .700 valve lift.
